Opinion is not truth. No matter how many people agree with Caplan or disagree with him reality won’t change.

Without making this about Caplan’s thesis, I would recommend that you take a look at the college courses for various majors (excepting STEM majors) and ask yourself if those courses will provide a student with Human Capital. This isn’t difficult just use common sense.

Finally, the teachers and university professors have much to lose if Caplan is correct, so contradicting academic articles are suspect and self-serving and we should be skeptical of their truth value.

Bryan Caplan is a good writer but that’s not why his “opinions” are attractive. What is credible is his reasoning and use of evidence. Caplan uses logic to connect the data to his thesis and most importantly he is willing to put his money on the line where other “intellectuals” make grandiose claims which end up proving false without paying any cost for being wrong.
